We believe creativity plays an important role in a child’s development. Art gives children a safe space to explore their imagination, express themselves and build confidence.

A Reaching Hand runs creative art therapy classes for more than 50 children on Saturday mornings. Each session includes breathing and relaxation exercises, followed by a nutritious meal and treats — feeding body, mind and spirit.

For children living in communities where safety and stability can be a daily concern, these classes provide a supportive place where they can connect, create and simply be children.

Educators have observed improvements in the children's confidence and academic engagement.

For just $10 per month, you can support one child to attend three art therapy sessions each month.

We believe education is a fundamental right and a powerful way to expand opportunities, build confidence and create greater independence.

A Reaching Hand supports children, youth and adults who face financial barriers to education. Some of the people we have supported have completed National Diplomas, while others have gone on to university and higher education.

For young adults and caregivers, we provide practical and financial support for skills training and certification programs, as well as guidance with résumés and assistance with transport to interviews and training.
