We support nutrition and well-being by providing nutritious food to children, families and vulnerable members of our communities.

Good nutrition, during the early years, is essential for healthy growth, brain development and a child's ability to learn and thrive. We believe children need more than food alone — they need care, stimulation, safety and opportunities to learn. Together, these provide a strong foundation for their future.

Our community food gardens provide fresh vegetables while strengthening our nutrition programs. A Reaching Hand also supports our Daycare Centers, Safe House, Soup Kitchen and Art Therapy Classes with regular food supplies, helping ensure that nutritious meals are available to those who need them.

Our pop-up soup kitchen, located at the  community clinic, provides nutritious meals to more than 3,000 people each month — from young children to elderly patients visiting the clinic for medication and treatment. For many, this may be their only meal of the day.

Our incredible team of women, led by Lenie, starts cooking in the early hours of the morning. Working from her small home kitchen, the team prepares large pots of nutritious food before delivering it to the clinic.

We believe no vulnerable person should have to face the day hungry.

“A meal is more than food. It gives a child energy to learn, a person strength to face the day, and a community the foundation to grow.”
